Solderless terminals are used to finish the connection to thousands of different electrical installations. They are very versatile and come in many styles to suit many applications. They are made of copper (economy versions use brass) and they are tin-plated to prevent corrosion.

Ring terminals are used to attach wires to studs or posts, and come in a variety of types and sizes. Non-insulated ring terminals can be crimped or soldered and can be easily finished off with heat shrink tubing to insulate and protect the connection.

Spade terminals, also known as spade connectors, are a type of wire terminal that may be either crimped or soldered to the wire for electrical connection. A spade connector may be either a male or female spade connector. Spade terminal sizes are based on both the size of compatible wire and the width of the spade.

The butt splice connector is actually a fairly common and useful connector used in electrical work. A butt splice connector is a form of so called “crimp” connector. Crimp connectors are used to terminate wires safely, or connect one wire to another. The wire is inserted into the connector.
